MONTREAL, September 26, 2003 – When "Aim high" is your motto, you expect big things to happen. But even Tom Kouri, president of High-Touch Communications (HTC), a 22-year veteran of the marketing and communications industry, was taken by surprise to learn that High-Touch had garnered 3 nominations at the second annual Canadian E-Business Leadership Awards program.

We knew we had a good chance, because we’ve beaten out larger, better-known companies before in pitching our Branding + Web services," said Kouri. "But we never imagined we’ d have 2 of the 3 Eastern finalists in the B2B Large Enterprise category. This reinforces that our IgnitionWeb platform is ideally suited to developing world class e-business applications."
In addition to nominations for two IgnitionWeb e-business sites, Unisource Canada (http://www.unisource.ca/) and Milgram & Company Ltd. (www.milgram.com), HTC was also nominated in the "Innovation" Category for Hourglass (www.hourglass.ca), their web-based time-tracking and reporting application.

"Our focus has constantly been on innovation and improvement," said Kouri. "Both IgnitionWeb and Hourglass were developed out of our desire to create better tools to serve our clients and to help them achieve their business goals more efficiently. IgnitionWeb facilitates the creation of interactive web sites and web-based business and communications tools that otherwise would have to be custom-built for our clients, at much greater expense. And we use HourGlass internally to ensure that our billing procedures are accurate and accountable, down to the last minute."

The E-Business Leadership competition honours organizations that have demonstrated leadership and success in promoting Canada’s electronic commerce, e-learning, or business over the Internet. Nominees range from private companies to government and the not-for-profit sector, with awards bestowed in nine categories including B2C, B2B, Not-for-Profit (charity or government), E-Learning , Wireless and Innovation.

Award winners will be announced at Canada’s E-Business Day and awards banquet to be held simultaneously in Toronto and Vancouver on October 29, 2003. Other finalists for Eastern Canada include: Aeroplan, Atlas Telecom Mobile Inc., the Canadian Hearing Society, Canadian Tire, eConcordia, Grand & Toy, Moneris, RBC Royal Bank Financial Group and Via Rail.
